2020
As the doors are shut,
and the place to seek refuge is outside,
I’m reminded that the sunrises and the sunsets.
And all of the in-betweens
As the planet slows down and humans find a new way of being,
that of compassion,
so long, to old models no longer serving us.
Like capitalism and disempowering authorities
And the sky’s are again blue,
blue to the stars,
and the waters return to their original form,
crystal clear.
And we start to watch the sunset,
like a cultural rite,
awaiting the mystery.
To catch a glimpse of the green flash.
As the sun descends below the horizon line to light up neighbouring lands,
our purpose becomes clear.
Joy.
That’s why we are here,
Thank you mother earth for the impudent reminder.
